Many people have asked me what’s the biggest key I’ve found for praying for the sick and seeing RESULTS. Without question, the most important step is learning to agree the will of God expressed clearly in His Word. He does not make it mysterious. God’s will for both healing and salvation is expressed most succinctly in Psalm 103. ”He forgives ALL of my sin and He heals ALL of my diseases.” All means all! Jesus demonstrated this on earth by healing EVERY SINGLE PERSON who came to Him for healing…ZERO exceptions. He never turned anyone away, and He never failed. Even when the disciples failed to heal a a boy who was having seizures, their failure said nothing about God’s will for that precious boy. Jesus perfectly demonstrated God’s will by healing the boy. Every person who prays for the sick has experienced failure, but it’s still God’s will to heal. We must choose to agree with God’s Word, even when we face obstacles that look immovable. Scripture does not permit us to change the assignment to lay hands on the sick. That being said, every time I pray for the sick, I do so with full assurance that God’s will is to heal and that the sacrifice of Jesus was more than enough to pay for it. If no change happens in the moment, I don’t blame God, I don’t blame the person, and I don’t even blame myself. I just keep praying, keep a regular practice of fasting, and keep pouring out the love of Jesus.
