I hope this will help a little!Another suggestion: when you’re talking to someone with depression, remember the difference between empathy and advice. A lot of people with depression aren’t asking for advice … in fact, receiving advice can border on insulting because we end up hearing “cheer up” or “just don’t think about it.” But empathy is acknowledging our feelings in a genuine way. I know there are several resources out there that explains how to be productively empathetic others if you need a more detailed explanation. -- source link
