This is the conversation I had with the antiporn-activist facebook page for #50dollarsnot50shades. (cautiously linked to here for education purposes)I appreciate the efforts of that campaign and I fully support your their suggestion that instead of going to the movie, you give your money to a local Battered Women’s Shelter.But don’t, for one second, believe this group is sex-positive, or feminist. They are completely funded by anti-porn groups. And they had no interest in learning about healthy BDSM or letting their posts reflect that. They believe all porn is exploitation, and I have a feeling they don’t have believe that women can actively choose to partake in BDSM. That feeling is based on the opinions they’ve presented to me so far.So when you see pictures like these: They’re also actively shaming a large group of people who feel that it’s possible to safely and consensually partake in BDSM. As well as tons of sex workers who honestly love what they do.I’m not 100% this post is the right thing to do, so I’d love your feedback.
