elementenchanter: If you’ve haven’t had the chance to perform anything magick-related for a while either because of life, exhaustion, or even because you couldn’t bring yourself to do anything no matter how much you wanted to, then don’t fret! These things happen, and what you must do is integrate magick slowly back into your daily routines.Starting off:Ground and cleanse yourself to remove negative energy.Clean your sacred space or where ever you normally do your work.This ties into the second part but clean all of your magickal tools if you use any.Make sure anything you use such as oils and herbs are still fit to use.Find your Book of Shadows, journal, or whatever you use to record your spells and findings, and make sure it is intact and undamaged.The first step in getting rid of magickal exhaustion is to cleanse and take care of yourself. Before starting anything related to magick, you must make sure you are grounded and centered as well as making sure you have the proper energy and that can easily be achieved by just making sure you have a proper meal of the day.Begin with small spells:Do spells you need no tools for.Try one word spells.Depending on what you’re doing for the day, suit your spell to that focus. For example, if you’re going to sit down and study, do a spell to help you focus on the content you’re doing.Try not to do anything that requires a second step.Don’t forget about using sigils and activating them how you see fit.When getting rid of magickal exhaustion, you may want to get right back into it with your rituals and lengthy spells. However, I believe you should start off small only so you don’t overwhelm yourself. Don’t worry, your big spells aren’t going anywhere! No need to rush.Now try adding more of what you did before you got exhausted:If you worked with the moon phases, try doing a spell during a specific phase.If you go by planetary time, try doing a spell during one of those times.If you work with the elements, try doing a spell with the element you work with the most.If you work with crystals, clear your crystals how you see fit (careful to curate this depending on the type of crystal), and either wear it if it’s crystal jewelry, or assemble a crystal bag.If you work with herbs, try making a blend to burn as incense if you can, or make a herb bag.For my witches who do essential oil magick, carefully curate a blend based on your need and either make a room spray or use it in your diffuser. Please remember proper essential oil usage.While I cannot cover every kind of magick that’s possible, if you don’t see your type here, just follow the same format. Whatever is the basic, easiest thing to do is what you should start off with.When you’re ready to start doing lengthier spells, you’ve reached the point where you’ve slowly gotten rid of your exhaustion and are ready to practice magick in your full potential. Now, the most important thing I’d like to stress is:Just because you may have not done a spell in some time, does not make you less of a witch as the next person. Sometimes things happen out of our control, so we must rest.
