East Cottingwith - St Mary’s Church by Yorkshire Lad - Paul Thackray It was another grey overcast day walking to the end of the Pocklington Canal at the village East Cottingwith some 7 miles from Pocklington in the East Riding of Yorkshire The village church is St Mary’s and is a Grade II listed building. St Mary’s is a lovely little church, simple but elegant. As churches go it is relatively new: it’s a red-brick building – built from the same brick as much of the rest of the village – completed probably in 1786, to replace an older chapel. Inside are plain white walls, a wooden plank ceiling and a beautiful stained glass East Window showing Christ on the cross Processed as sketch/watercolour https://flic.kr/p/2joHd9f -- source link
