arthistorycq:Castro de BaroñaLocation: Baroña, Galicia, SpainDate Unknown said to be roughly 2000 years old (Discovered/excavated in 1933)The Castro de Baroña is a magical place. It sits up on a mountain with cliffs looking over the sea. Castro means ruins of a fortified place. This site is thought to have been a small fortified settlement that was inhabited by the Celts. It is not difficult to reach however the road indicators are horrible. If coming from the direction of Noia take the AC-550 towards Riveira. You will pass the small town of Baroña and almost immediately after the castro will be indicated. There is a small parking with a bar at the top.The path to the castro is a little rocky and rough but not difficult. It takes about 5 minutes to arrive to the site. You are free to walk around the entire castro. If you are interested in a deep in the sea after your historical excursion, there is another path leading to the Praia Area Longa (beach). This beach is beautiful and looks upon the elevated fortified settlement from a distance. It’s also a nude beach FYI. -- source link
