egypt-museum: Statue of the goddess Taweret Goddess associated with fertility and the hippopotamus and portrayed as a hybrid creature with the head of a hippopotamus, human arms, drooping breasts, round belly and lion’s feet. Her paws are on two supports in the form of the ‘sa’ sign, symbol of protection. The statue was found in a limestone naos decorated with the scenes of Taweret. Schist, from the Temple of Amun-Re, Karnak. Late Period, 26th Dynasty, ca. 664-525 BC. Now in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. CG 39194 -- source link
