Shit i almost criedThe GOP doesn’t deserve them.elephants are friendsI’m sure I’ve added this story to a tumblr post before, but I once attended a talk given by an elephant conservationist who was out doing research, and he and his team had found a pile of elephant bones. They set up camp beside the pile, so they could identify whether this was one of their recorded-by-dna elephants or an unknown one, and while setting up a family of elephants came by, and wanted to pet the bones (this is how elephants mourn, which is cool enough in itself). As the conservationist put it, you can’t really tell an elephant no, so they went inside their tent and left the elephants to it. Later, when the conservationists went back out, they found the living elephants had separated the bones into two distinct piles. They pushed them back together, and continued to set up. When they were just about finished, the elephant family came back, so once again the conservationists went into their tent.Coming out, again, the elephants had separated the bones into two piles. Curious, they took a bone from each pile, and tested the dna of each. They were the bones of two different elephants, y’all. This elephant family had somehow been able to identify this, and separate out the bones of the two different elephants perfectly. Elephants are amazing. -- source link
