dragonageconfessions: CONFESSION: I just thought of this so I hope people can understand what I’m trying to say. Ok so I think sound is a big piece of the puzzle when it comes to understanding Thedas. First, lyrium sings. Lyrium is the physical form of magic/the fade. The veil is apparently a frequency of sound that separates the fade from reality, according to a codex entry. Granted, it’s just a theory someone in Thedas had. The Chant of Light is supposed to be /sung/ at all corners of the world for mankind to be forgiven. According to the Chant, when it was just the Maker and spirits in the fade, the streets and banners all made beautiful music. The Maker’s words themselves, as in spoken words, made reality from nothing. The Old Gods /called/ to the ancient Magisters and then darkspawn. Kieran will say he heard Mythal calling to him and he meets her in the fade. I don’t have any big answers, but I feel like this is a critical piece of info that could reveal more. Just what is it that Thedas is missing that makes everything so terrible? If you think of it in terms of sound and metaphor, when one note is off it ruins the symphony. Perhaps that’s what red lyrium is doing. -- source link
