northbndtrain:Joel was – in the tape, he actually came into the scene during his audition and put the box down on a table, and it fell off in the audition. It was a total mistake. And he was so funny in how he tried to pick it up, and the guy he was acting with was just like, “No, man, leave it.” He’s like, “No, no, I got it,” and the guy’s like, “No, man.” And just that – that awkwardness and that – that thing between them. And here’s Holder. It just epitomized perfectly what Holder represents in Sarah’s life. Here’s this woman who’s incredibly guarded, who never wears her heart on her sleeve, who keeps her cards hidden, meets and teams up and has to spend every waking hour with a person who has no boundaries, and who comes in and just drops his stuff all over the place. I loved it so much in his audition that I actually rewrote this scene to include it ‘cause it was so – such a perfect Holder/Sarah interaction. - Veena Sud (developer/EP of The Killing), “Pilot” DVD commentary -- source link
