nim-lock:The Fabric Merchant’s Son Joy Yang, 2017A children’s book where gender expectations are a bit more fluid! A boy, Purl, and his mother, the fabric merchant, are traveling through the mountains to visit family. On the way, Purl is tasked with making warm clothing for himself. He remembers his sister at home loves to “borrow” his clothing, so he tailors this garment to suit both of them. There are many pockets. This is a selection of pages from the book I finished for fall senior thesis. It was initially envisioned as a visual exercise in backgrounds, color, and layout. Moving forward, there will be revisions to the plot & pacing to turn this into the book it deserves to be! Stay tuned, and we’ll see where this leads us! –Fun character bites that weren’t mentioned: Purl’s sister is trans! The parents are lesbians! Goats! -- source link
