autogynephelia: Winter workwear inspiration I just adore this delightful winter workwear outfit styled by the highly talented Jean Wang of the Extra Petite blog. Whilst Jean’s audience is typically the more petite cis female, there’s a wealth of style tips to be gleaned for all who identify as women. She pulls off the three styling elements here; colour palette (yellow, cream, grey); fabric patina (stretch wool, soft sheer, opaque weaves); and, what I call ‘persuasive prettiness’ (skin interest, tipped ruffles). All in an outfit that combines functionalities for varying climate (outdoors, indoors) and purpose (day to night). Jean helpfully notes that she avoided the bumblebee effect by substituting grey for black hues in her palette (longline cardigan, control pantyhose); but’ the other trick she pulls off is to draw the eye away from her bodice to her skirt - extra helpful for trans women with larger torsos to disguise. -- source link
