fyodorpavlov:fyodorpavlov:RIP Tumblr, I guess! This was a long time coming, ever since Yahoo bought this website and made NSWF content unsearchable. The current party line is that this won’t affect visual artists, but I seriously doubt that - especially considering that oops, as we can see above, it already has (the cropped image is perfectly safe, but this is from a post of several illustrations that were decidedly not!It’s a shame, because after the death of livejournal, Tumblr has been my online blogging platform of choice and the place where I showcased my art and found a community of fans and fellow artists who have encouraged, supported and shared my art for many years. It’s been in decline for a while, and how I use it has changed accordingly. But it was still accessible, still filled with accounts and artists I liked, and was still a pretty great way to get my work out there. It brought me recognition and clients.A few people have written in to ask if I’m going to be moving on to greener pastures, such as Pillowfort or Ello. At the moment I don’t plan to.
