angryautisticaesthetic:angryautisticaesthetic:angryautisticaesthetic:Hey guys, I really need help. I’ve been type 1 diabetic since I was 10. In the 9 years that have followed I’ve been diagnosed with depression, autism, and executive function disorder. As a result, my treatment of diabetes has been mediocre for years due to mental inability to process what I need to do and handle it.Now I am struggling with the side effects of high blood sugar for a long period of time. I have lost eyesight, lost some feeling in my hands and feet, become exceptionally prone to infection (I’ve had from an infected papercut to a uti so bad I was in the hospital for 3 days) but most noticeable is the debilitating eczema on my hands, which would be mild if it wasn’t for the inflammation that is a result of high blood sugar. My hands became infected and I was pressured by my managers to quit at work a few weeks ago. I can still barely use them and this is after two weeks of oral steroids (which are super bad for diabetics). My doctors have told me that they were shocked I was still alive and have personally driven me to the hospital from appointments to get emergency treatments. If I continue in my state they guarantee that I will lose my sight completely, if not need minor amputations of fingers/toes.I now have a lower pressure job with better bosses, but much much less hours which mainly pay for food and car insurance. From what my doctors and my reading suggests I would benefit exceptionally from a service dog. I qualify for one, but one would cost thousands of dollars. My parents say they can’t supply the money, we’re spread pretty thin paying for regular diabetic supplies and insulin as is.If I could raise the money in the next 6 months then I could pay the expenses at Diabetic Alert Dogs of America. I don’t have a quote yet, so I’ll likely add to this post later with an exact number. My paypal is ebbuckley98@gmail.com and my youcaring link is https://www.youcaring.com/bettybuckley-995481?utm_campaign=buttonshare&utm_medium=url&utm_source=copy&utm_content=cf_cp_01 please if you are willing to donate you would be seriously helping me better my quality of life.EDIT: I am now being put on auto-immune suppressants to give my hands a chance to heal before my eczema cycle starts again. If I am not careful while taking these meds I could get sick very easily, and then spend weeks in the hospital. If anyone has any advice for keeping safe I would really appreciate it!New Development! I have applied to a different service dog provider that my nurse educator has recommended to me. My hands are still in severe shape even with the immune system suppressants, so please do not let this post die! Please reblog and circulate this as much as you are willing to! My nurse educator said that with how severe my blood is, if i dont find a way to better my health i will have to look into having a 24 hour nurse or move into assisted living. I really really dont want that, im only 19. My hands also have not improved, ive had to super glue some parts shut. Please help me. -- source link
