Chrysocolla (Cu,Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4·nH2O - 09.ED.20 (Strunz)(from Atacama (1), Sagasca Mine (2), Palqui
Chrysocolla (Cu,Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4·nH2O - 09.ED.20 (Strunz)(from Atacama (1), Sagasca Mine (2), Palquico(3), Chile)Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper silicate mineral, has a cyan (blue-green) color and is a minor ore of copper. I have 3 samples, in the first picture, there is a specimen with turquoise color and green remains, from North of Chile (Atacama’s Desert), a beautiful piece. The second picture, the chrysocolla has a Tourmaline remains (black mineral), this is from Sagasca, a mine located 110 kilometers west of Iquique (North of Chile too). The third one, I brought it from a Abandoned and Nameless little Mine in Palquico, I got it in my first expedition of minerals where I walk over 10 kilometers on the rise. -- source link
