Lazurite (Na,Ca)8[(S,Cl,SO4,OH)2|(Al6Si6O24)]  -  09.FB.10 (Strunz) (from Atacama’s Desert, Chile) Lazurite is a tectosilicate mineral with sulfate, sulfur and chloride. Really this is a Lapis Lazuli, a mixture of minerals with lazurite as the main constituent, wich is a deep blue semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color. My Grandfather brought me this rock from Atacama (near Andes’s Mountains) for less than 2 dollars!!
