theveryworstthing:a team of healers from patreon.lore time.Drew a team of water mages from one of the healing springs in The Woods. You might think that healing springs shouldn’t really require supervision and guidance for use but if you saw how many people just jump right into the dang things without considering what or who or how they’re meant to heal, you’d know you were wrong. A 20 minute soak and a glass of spring water isn’t gonna put your broken ribs back together, free you from all your curses, or magically clear up your mental issues. You need a healer to assess your damage and figure out how to best administer the water so it works the fastest. Like, you can sit in the spring for weeks to get the same effect that they could give you in a day or two, but who has time for that? Also, by the time enough water soaks through your skin or is absorbed in your stomach you might be dead anyway. None of these mages have names at the moment but they are, in order:Head Mage: a unicorn who’s family has been watching over this particular spring for ages. Now that unicorns are so rare, you mostly find them at these springs as many feel they still have a cultural duty to keep them safe. Excellent bedside manner has been bred into their very being. Also, unicorns don’t usually look Like That but they’ve been through a lot. Head Botanist: the goblin who monitors and cultivates the plant life that grows in and around the spring. Often times plants can break down the magic in the water and make it easier to digest. Certain plants can even draw out specific healing properties, making excellent medicine for multiple ills with only common weeds and proper irrigation. They’re a Knife Guy and they love to collect the cursed weaponry they pull out of patients.Vibe Checker: checker of vibes. She specializes in mental ills and trauma. The healing springs are not a substitute for good therapy but there are ways it can help. Most other goblins don’t notice that her face Does That from time to time due to some kind of natural glamour that makes their minds slip away from thinking about it too deeply, and there’s a good chance that she has fairy in her family tree somewhere (even though fairies never existed, right?). Gives excellent massages. Head Physician/Co-Head Mage: the blood and guts doctor. She assesses physical damage and administers any practical healing you might need so you survive long enough for the water to work. Blunt but kind, she’s usually the first person a visitor sees and helps the head mage decide on proper treatment options. Loves stories from her patients, treats from distant lands, and lounging behind waterfalls for her meditation breaks (naps). ¾ths dragon. -- source link
