Here’s some sunbirds I saw the other day. I usually don’t get the chance to be so close but I was in a protea garden so they were much closer than usual.Sunbirds have a fairly conservative sexual dimorphism, no real change in body structure, only bright iridsecent patches for the males. You can see them pretty clearly in his photos. Females take on a more subdued brown look, which makes it seem like sunbird couples would be some kind of “University professor in a tweed jacket married to a freelance artist who loves eyeshadow maybe TOO much” dynamic. -- source link
