falloutboyonboy: berri-merry-holidays: shingekinobands: berri-merry-holidays: falloutboyonboy: snk boys in a loreal commercial youre welcome Is that COnnie?! Is that MARCO?! idek who that other person is supposed to be so I won’t bother with that butHoney no! Those skin tones are so far from their ACTUAL skin colors I’m wondering if you actually watches the show??? AND Are SOfar from black that I’m actually dying of laughter over here! AND, AND, ANNND, just for comparison to the character you made light skinned, How much of a difference do you actually see?Like this isn’t just a few shades of difference this is like, black washing, if that’s even a thing now. Oh god I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry at you people. does it have to be 100% according to the anime?? Bertholdt is pale in the manga but he’s got an olive skin tone in the anime. Gee, I wonder if the animators actually read the manga. Does fan art have to be according to the actual thing? I’m not saying that different fan art all have to have their own quirks and specialties to be original, since the characters all belong to Isayama in the end, but we are allowed to have our own spins on them and personalise them, right? Its much like having head cannons but in a more visual way ((haha, i doubt that made much sense)) but my point is, so what if we have “black wash”ed Marco, Bertholdt and Connie? or a very pale Armin? I get that you have these characters in mind as having those specific characteristics. What if Armin was black with ginger dreadlocks? would that change his character that much? Oh honey I never said it had to be 100%, but like I said, that’s not just a few shades different. That’s what people would say is “white washing”, but black. Also I’m not talkin about Bertholdt, so you may wanna try again. Ooh looks like I hit your nerves a bit too hard with this one X’D It doesn’t have to be exact honey, but it’s so far from the actual truth it just makes me laugh. I mean what if we gave Armin black hair? You’d say “that’s not the color of his hair”, right? Don’t answer that it was rhetorical. It’s not your own spin deary, several people have been black-washing the characters for… no reason whatsoever! XD It ain’t an original “quirk”. Headcanon doesn’t mean changing the facts to suit your desires. Headcanons are filling in spaces where facts weren’t given. “Marco is black” isn’t a headcanon, honey. “Marco has freckles on his back” IS a headcanon, since we never actually see his back so there may or may not be freckles on his back. I just find it hilarious just how far from reality you people go just for the hell of it. Man, I knew white-washing was a thing but I didn’t know black-washing existed until these crack fanarts of Marco started floating around my dash. It’s not what I see “in my mind”, it’s what the characters actually look like compared to your miserable attempt at re-drawing them XD It would change Armin, btw, because that’s not what Armin looks like. You’d be taking a character and turning them into some gary-stu OC crap that you’d find in old fanfictions on FF.net from 2008 when no one knew how to write. Aw man, these fanarts are probably have gotten some of the best laughs out of me. wow thank you so much for this informative and lifechanging spiel today i have learned that blackwashing is real and it is a Serious Issue that affects our society these days. now that were on the subject lets talk about reverse racism and its detrimental effects on white people It’s called art and freedom of expression, miss berri merri fucking holidays. Apparently something your pretentious ass doesn’t think should be allowed. This person put their art out there with their twist on some characters, and you know what. I wouldn’t have imagined Marco with dark skin. But now that I see it, I think he’d be pretty fucking attractive that way. And Connie looks fucking perfect with that sassy pose so don’t even. -- source link
