heyatleastitsnotcancer: heyatleastitsnotcancer: So I used to get written up at work for calling off sick for my chronic illness. I always called off using my earned pto and gave as much notice as possible. If I requested a vacation day 1 month ahead of the shift or if I called in 2 hours before shift and called in sick, management wouldn’t get someone to cover the shift. Neither with notice or without. So why write up employees for sick days using paid leave they earned when you don’t get shifts covered regardless? Where is the logic? Needless to say, I gave my notice when my manager literally saw me crying in pain unable to talk or even breathe properly (I would have spine surgery a few months later for the issue because it was so bad) and said if I left to use my pto they would have to write me up again. So I said fuck it, here’s my 2 weeks. @willow-wanderings Nope, I didn’t have the time, energy, or money to do so while dealing with spine surgery (and my dad having terminal cancer). But I did win unemployment for 6 months for their absolute shit behavior with my disability so I wasn’t totally fucked! -- source link
