These people will admit that no one experiences ‘gender’ the same way and yet they continue to push the narrative that if you don’t relate to (or aren’t comfortable with) 100% of the gender roles of your assigned sex then that makes you trans instead of just a normal person. It’s useless to make a million different identities for people to claim instead of just accepting that there isn’t any one way to be (or “feel like”, whatever that means) a man or woman.I saw someone mention that people on Tumblr use ‘gender’ in place of personality/identity and now every time I come across one of these posts I just substitute personality in instead and it makes a lot more sense. Gender is just the new word for “soul”. Just look at the reactions when you say you don’t believe in it. Yeah I think we’re more into spiritual/religious territory. I wouldn’t even care about people being this batshit if they weren’t also trying to erase the reality of biological sex, sex-based healthcare, female oppression, homosexuality, the nature of intersex conditions, etc. Hell, this shit isn’t even good for actual trans people. Right like honestly, live your weird life, good for you yknow yolo. You can identify however. But just keep it away from serious stuff because it’s fucking with lgb and women’s rights, like you’re playing a game by it has real consequences for other people. They’re describing personalities, and then get pushed when we try to legislate policy based on material reality. “My pangender glitterqueer faebinary systemofadownfluid self is valid!”God, no, it really is not. I liked the furries and otherkin of the 2000s and early 2010s better, at least they didn’t try to make equal rights legislation adhere to their weird hobbies. Also, if everyone has their own unique gender, what’s the point in getting hung up on the words “man” and “woman”? One of the charges against J. K. Rowling is that she’s strawmanning because “no one is saying sex isn’t real!”, but in that case, what’s the problem with using these words to refer to people of one sex or the other, like we always have up until they started complaining? And if everyone has their own unique gender, and there’s no criteria, nothing that unites people under a particular gender category, then what’s the fucking point of labeling it at all? Like, if there’s no criteria you have to meet to be considered a man or a woman or some flavor of nonbinary, why bother making a distinction? Why care if meaningless words do or don’t apply to you?@lesbian-lizards my sentiments exactly Word. They’ll always be like “let people identify how they want it’s not your business!” and then go ahead and make it our business by trying to force everybody to kowtow to their nonsense. It’s just like religion, it is my concern what you believe as long as you’re forcing it on me This wannabe poetry shit is so corny. So you have a kind, soft, warm personality and you like flowers and strawberries? That’s crazy dawg you can just enjoy those things and be like that without waxing poetic about how those things are so #genderAnd this? Also just an aesthetic. Ffs -- source link
