I’ve been having nightmares lately. Last night I was in a haunted manor with some other people, and we were supposed to complete tasks on our own. It was like from some predictable horror game where you dusted counters and looked for keys to the scary basement with only your flashlight as the light source. There were jumpscares, your usual ceiling babies and ghosts and screams. We didn’t have exact number of the tasks, but we knew we ABSOLUTELY had to do ALL of them before leaving. There was no way to keep count. When you believed you were ready, you got to walk into the lobby staircase and try your luck with the front door. Now, if you had found and done all the tasks, the door would unlock and you got to walk out.If you hadn’t, the door would remain locked. Charred bodies in fetal positions would uncloak everywhere - on the floor, on the walls and ceiling defying gravity. The hall would be filled with screams and wailing, the air would be thick and red. There’d rise a black floating mass in the vague shape of an unicorn with a five feet horn and bright red outline, and it’d hunt you down and impale you on the floor, on the wall or ceiling. You’d become one of the bodies. There was a third ending. You could trick the game somehow, and when you’d walk into the final room, you wouldn’t go free or get killed. You’d become the unicorn, something absolutely, dreadfully evil, and you’d remain there waiting for the next one who hasn’t done their tasks. -- source link
