The Quakenbrush Bicycle Rifle,Made in the 1880’s to the turn of the century, the Quakenbrush Bicycle Rifle was a .22 single shot breech loading rifle made by industrialist H. Mm Quakenbrush. Quakenbrush also manufactured air rifles, extending ladders, and nutcrackers. He also helped standardize shot size for shotguns and operated a metal finishing factory. The Quakenbrush Bicycle Rifle was made for use by young boys, so that they could ride a bicycle while carrying a rifle. Notice the short barrel, simple action, and wire butt stock which was created to save space and weight. 11 other youth models were produced up to 1940. The Bicycle Rifle itself would become inspiration for the USAF M4 Survival Rifle http://peashooter85.tumblr.com/post/31702196871/usaf-m4-survival-rifle-manufactured-by -- source link
