ehjorth:Okay, so this sort of annoys me. There are a number of things wrong with this image:Despite the fact that I’m not currently informing Facebook of my gender, the droplist still displays exclusively female options for me. Would it really be that much trouble to have a ‘niece/nephew’ option rather than just ‘niece’?Is it REALLY necessary to add ‘female’ to ‘cousin’ and especially ‘partner’? - the latter term is often used by romantic partners who for one reason or another do not want to draw attention to their gender, which Facebook here makes impossible. It doesn’t give me the opportunity to list this person as my family member without specifying the relation, and thus misgender myself. It gives me exclusively female options even though I’m not listed as female in my personal information. This deserves to be mentioned twice.Facebook, some of your users refrain from listing their gender for a reason (even if we have to abuse glitches in your system in order to do so …) - please stop trying to force us to reveal something we would rather not. You are making me want to delete my account yet again.Ok this is getting stupid. -- source link
