fuckyeahhistorycrushes:Charles Alexandre de Calonne (1734-1802), Controller-General of Finances of King Louis XVI, who tried to reform the finances of the Kingdom of France and failed. He had an interesting motto when requested to do something by the Queen (Marie-Antoinette): “Madam, if it is possible, it is done, if it is impossible, it will be done.” (or Madame, si c'est possible, c'est fait; impossible, cela se fera.)
