Appearing as a gaunt walking corpse with patches of ice across its rotted skin, bleakborn feast on the body heat of living creatures. Too long without it, and they go dormant, appearing to be nothing but a dead body until a living creature comes within 15 feet of it: at which point it awakens, hungry for the creature’s heat. Bleakborn raise those they kill as zombies, helping them defend their lairs. Bleakborn are created when humanoids die in bitterly cold conditions, either freezing to death or in some other way.
