LITTLE BIRD Today I was out in my local area about 4pm… I noticed a cat running away and dropping something. On closer inspection, I realised it was a small little bird. Unable to fly and in shock, but still alive. Not knowing what to do, I gently nudged it. It glided above the ground at 50cm over 5m distance before landing in the middle of the road. I stared at it for a few minutes, before taking off my hoodie I had on under my coat (freezing today) and scoped it up. I decided to take it to the river nearby and see if it will fly, plus to be further away from the cat. It was still full of beans and fighting back by gently biting my hoodie with heavy breathing. It wouldn’t fly. I decided to take it home and put it in a box. Hoping it will survive by keeping it warm and out of shock, then taking it to the local vets in the morning. However, I checked the box at 10pm tonight… It had died from shock, body already set in rigamortis. It made me pretty sad tomorrow I will take it to the river where evolution and nature will take over. Its strange how something like this can change your day. I will now go to bed knowing I have the r.i.p little bird in the same room as me still. Somehow, that makes me feel quite peaceful. Good night xx -- source link
