Glencairn’s remarkable 15th-century stone sculpture of Mary of Burgundy is headed for the Big Apple! Mary and her little attendant angel are going on loan for several months to The Metropolitan Museum of Art for the exhibition, “The Last Knight: The Art, Armor, and Ambition of Maximilian I.” The show will explore how Maximilian’s unparalleled passion for the trappings and ideals of knighthood served his boundless worldly ambitions, imaginative stratagems, and resolute efforts to forge a lasting personal and family legacy. (Mary of Burgundy was Maximilian’s wife.) Exhibition dates: October 7, 2019–January 5, 2020. More info here: https://bit.ly/2kd4MOW -- source link
