Pencil and watercolour, heightened with white, gold and silver, on paper.Produced in 1921 in London, at the Alhambra Theatre, as The Sleeping Princess. It was a Diaghilev production, staged by Nikolay Sergeyev, with scenes by Léon Bakst. The mazurka is a Polish folk dance in triple meter, usually at a lively tempo, and with “strong accents unsystematically placed on the second or third beat.” -- source link
