ganymedesrocks:willigula:Paintings by Miriam Escofet (via Hi-Fructose)Miriam Escofet was born, the daughter of artists, in Barcelona to grow up surrounded by the rich visual lexicon of art, then moved to the UK in 1979. She graduated from the Brighton School of Art in 1991. The 3D design speciality, she made her first love, is still at the core of her art practice. She started painting soon after graduating and has been a practicing artist ever since, exhibiting widely in London and Europe. Although portraiture is a relatively recent theme in her work, she developed her technique to an extremely detailed level, applying many layers and glazes to achieve a sense of space and mood. Since 2014, Miriam Escofet is an elected associate member of the royal society of portrait painters. -- source link
