Oil on canvas.This portrait of Geertruida Hasselaer (1624-1696) has been signed in Jacob Backer’s customary manner with the monogram JAB. The sitter is depicted standing three quarter length before a curtain, wearing a yellow silk dress and lace chemise, pearls and bonnet, with her right hand holding the train of her dress against her breast. Noteworthy is the way by which the painter captured the lustre and texture of the glowing material. -- source link
