workingclasshistory:On this day, 22 January 2018, legendary anarchist author Ursula K Le Guin died aged 88 in Portland, Oregon. An ardent feminist and advocate for diversity in literature and publishing, she won numerous awards for her fantasy and sci-fi novels. We find these words of hers particularly inspiring and worth bearing in mind in these difficult times: “We live in capitalism. Its power seems inescapable. So did the divine right of kings. Any human power can be resisted and changed by human beings. Resistance and change often begin in art, and very often in our art, the art of words.” We have made available some of her books here: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com/collections/books/ursula-k-le-guin https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1330930460425434/?type=3 -- source link
