thoodleoo:so bombusperplexus and i were discussing flower meanings and romans last night, and i decided to draw catullus with the flowers we picked for him (as always, credit goes to chelidon for catullus’s design bc i still have not come up with my own and tbh i love her catullus)the big, pinkish-purple flowers are althea, a sort of hibiscus that mean “consumed by love;” the white flowers with the yellow middles are narcissus flowers, which mean “unrequited” love and “selfishness;” and the little purple flowers are heliotrope, which mean “turn towards the sun” and “eternal love” -- source link
