dfitzger: by @bridie_od: Sometimes, the psychological effort required to tick off an #evilergo can be a real kick in the baby maker. And sometimes, for the first 5-10mins I find myself thinking “hmmm I’m not sure how this is gonna go… maybe I’ll only get through 5.. or 6.” Last week I got through 6 and it didn’t kill me… So much of athletic performance is about the reassurance that what you are trying to do isn’t spectacular, it’s not Mission to Mars stuff… It’s just repeating over and over the high quality performances. And then pushing that ever so carefully to new, sustainable levels. Y'know - self belief #thatolchestnut A few months back when I did my V02max test with a particularly underwhelming results, I was a different type of beast from now. Now, I’m 3kg lighter with >30W higher V02 and because I’m my Father’s daughter, I have that bloody ‘it could be worse’ phrase in my mind.
