mari-musing: LOOK at this day! Perth, Winter, 2015. A chilly morning but a beautiful afternoon, as you can see from the the short sleeved jerseys. clubathletica and I took a 31km spin around midday (oh the joy of not having to get out early). She was feeling her sprints from yesterday and had a sore butt from so long off the bike. I was feeling strong, so she got a little taste of what it was like being me pre-Remicade: seeing someone smokin’ up the hill in front while you plead with your legs just to work dammit. Seriously though, unless you’ve had a chronic illness that leaves you drained and fatigued, you can’t know how it is to feel like a normal, healthy person. To not have dig for every little effort; like getting up. It is amazing and exciting. We were slowed down by a snail trail of roadworks, so our average speed was lower than the tenor of our ride.In the afternoon I worked through some accounting and communications, and got my stuff together for tomorrow’s orientation at the new job. I hope everything goes well. I hope nobody suddenly decides that my existing commitments (Tuesday prac, my next infusion, the Uni Games in September) are too difficult to work around. I flagged these things but it all happened so fast that I have a little anxiety that the right person doesn’t know! Just me being a stress bunny I hope. -- source link
