so-much-to-play-with: Lately, our ropes sessions have been sparse – lots to do and little time to rest – but my Little One convinced me we could go see our rope friends, even if not to practice. Of course, as soon as we arrived on site, we didn’t even take time to say hello that we already were under a bamboo… For once, we’d talk a bit beforehand about possible harnesses. Those were unusual and still she suggested some I even didn’t consider, seeing them as too complex to use but, hey, she’s the one in the ropes, so better listen to her, right? The ropes and harnesses were meant to be chaotic, rough on her body. The arms tied together would pull hard on her shoulders. The legs trapped from waists to toes would suffer from the twists and burns. It was just another way to tie, a kind of frenzy, of randomness that I was trying to tame because I knew she would be there to tell me if it was becoming unreachable. That’s how our ropes evolve. That how most of what we share evolved. I run wild, explore, discover, because I know she’ll bring me back when it’s too far for her, for me. We went far. Sweat was cascading on my eyes. Ropes were entangled around her and at my feet as I was making her dance like a puppet. She was the splendid figurehead of my expedition, leaving me choose the destination but pointing out sandbanks to avoid. I twisted her body, burnt her skin, pulled her muscles but… “Thank you, I love you. It’s hard, but you can keep going.” The journey continues. -- source link
