guilt-a-fish:Today I was at the Holocaust museum and this guy was standing in front when I had first waked in. I was ticked at first, of course, but I had gone to the gift store (to buy a mezuzah) and had done some research concerning the Holocaust in North Africa. When I got outside I had decided to confront him and that’s how this conversation went:Me: Excuse me, could you please not protest here.Guy: I’m not protesting; I’m educating.Me: I’m a descendant of a Holocaust survivor and I would appreciate it if you would not protest here.Guy: This is an educational institution. I’m allowed to stand here.Me: Right, but as someone who has lost a lot of family in the Holocaust I am asking you not to.Guy: So do you believe the Palestinians…Me: That’s not what I said. I’m just asking you not to protest here.Guy: But I’m allowed-…Me: [Leaving] I just want you to remember the time when you felt it right to try to talk over a descendant of a Holocaust survivor.Guy: [Calling out as I walk away] I’m not talking over you, dear. -- source link
