rivbike: Who Rides an A. Homer Hilsen?Liz and her 51cm A. Homer Hilsen, equipped with Billie Bars, Mark’s Rack, medium Wald Basket, Nitto Top Rack, Sackville ShopSack, and Nipomo Blanket.Name: Liz ClarkJob: Self employed/ Wearer of many hats at NipomoYears Riding: 12 years give or takeHow you got started (riding): First started riding a bike again in college when I didn’t have a car and needed to get around to run errands and go about town. Then picked it up again to commute from the Inner Richmond to the Mission. I really enjoyed the feeling of being able to self propel myself around the city. As I got more comfortable, I started biking to the beach and using my car less and less and I really loved that. Typical Ride: Biking to the beach or around town. If I’m feeling real adventurous somewhere out in Shell Ridge or in the east bay hills. Dream Ride: Perhaps somewhere in the Netherlands to see the tulips during tulip season. Riding Goal: Get faster and stronger so I can keep up and make it up some giant Bay Area hills. Why this bike: I love the color! But really it is also a bit longer than my last bike which makes it great for me and my upright set up so that I’m not doing unintentional wheelies uphill.Favorite Book: State of Wonder by Ann Patchett or the Elena Ferrante Neopolitan Novels.Favorite Food: Fruit! All kinds but especially when it is fresh and in season and straight from the farmers market. -- source link
