a-cumberbatch-of-cookies:lokis-army-at-221b:221books:julieftws:dependingontheweather:That little laugh. It’s like he’s remembering all the times John was amazed by him all those “Fantastic!, amazing!” and just, for the last time, showing the warmth it gave him to be appreciated. To be accepted by someone after all the years of being called a freak.the tear, damn you benedict cumberbatch. This is really quite terrifying if you think about it. By saying he’s a fraud, and that he made everything up, Sherlock is trying to get John to believe that the time at the pool or the time in the tramway, where John was abducted, knocked unconscious, fitted with a bomb vest, held and gun point, etc, etc, and generally threatened with loss of life, and at the very least, terrified - that was all Sherlock’s doing. John had major trust issues at the beginning of the show. Can you imagine the wreck he would become if Sherlock’s plan had worked and he actually had believed him? In doing this, Sherlock isn’t just admitting he’s a fraud, he’s admitting that he was never John’s friend in the first place, and that these last 18 months have all been one big lie. Luckily John is too smart to believe any of that.IM SO DONEGO STAND IN THE FUCKING CORNER RIGHT NOW. -- source link
