reasonandempathy:stopmakingliberalslookbad:reasonandempathy:stopmakingliberalslookbad:pxlestine:A story in three parts!BBC deletes original headline about the Israeli airstrike that killed a pregnant mother and her baby girl following Israeli pressure and outcry over the BBC’s honest reporting first time around.Oh, fuck all of you. Gaza fired more than 80 rockets into Israel first. Why is it that every country but Israel is allowed to defend itself? I’m so sick of this hysteria. None of you ever look at this conflict with any nuance. Here’s the actual story: https://globalnews.ca/news/4377943/gaza-rockets-israel-air-strikes/You’re right.Which is entirely why the headline is blatant misinformation about who killed the mother and child.More acceptable headlines:“Mother and child dead in anti terrorist strike in Gaza”“Two dead in strike against terrorists”“Collateral damage in Gaza kills mother and child”“Two civilians dead in self-defense strike against Gaza.”Or, best of all:“Israeli air strikes kill mother and child after rockets hit Israel.” If you want to get the whole story onto a headline. If a country doesn’t like a story they should explain why it’s a bad story. Not directly and explicitly pressure the authors to change the story. If you sincerely don’t see how a government pressuring news coverage to explicitly frame it in a way they want to then I really don’t know where to start those conversation. There is no proof that the Israeli government pressured the BBC into changing anything. Are you seriously taking a fucking Tumblrina at face value? Especially one with a clear bias? Screenshots of tweets aren’t proof. They most likely changed their headline after realizing that it was misleading, like any respectable news outlet would do.I would suggest educating yourself on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. You don’t seem to have the most nuanced grasp on it. This is probably the least biased source out there: https://israelipalestinian.procon.org/view.timeline.php?timelineID=000031#1900-1947Also, Hamas runs Gaza. Just throwing that out there. The MFA literally lodged official complaints with the BBC over the article. The screenshotted man is an Israeli journalist. Not everyone who disagrees with you so stupid. No matter what, that is not an excuse to kill a pregnant woman and her toddler. There is no fucking excuse to that. At least, admit your crimes for once instead of fighting the whole world to clear your ugly image. Fucking arrogant punks! -- source link
