sockdreams:manamachina:paprikanoir:sockdreams:roguewen:sockdreams:DIY for Fit: Wet Look Lace Up Thigh High Leg Warmers! For anyone who loved the look of the Wet Look leg warmers, but didn’t quite fit in the size range for either size (given the nature of the fabric, they’re not very stretchy), we worked up a little DIY!These leg warmers are attached at the top back, so you have to use some fabric scissors and a little hand-sewing to solve that, but once you’re done they become very adjustable! If you need more room, you can buy longer cord (easily found at most craft and fabric stores), and expand their fit even more.Just be aware that they are attached for a couple inches at the ankle, so you’ll want to make sure they fit down there…or be prepared for a lot more sewing!♥LucySocks by Sock Dreams • Free Shipping in the US • $5 International ShippingFind us on facebook | twitter | pinterest | instagram | sock journal | g+ hey um. I might have to cry a little bit about this. I want everyone to please consider shopping from @sockdreams at some point in the future, not just because they sell fun socks, but because they really honestly do give a damn about their fat customers and actively make moves to court us by carrying a huge range of sizes and posting many photos of fat models in their clothes, even going so far as creating and publishing a DIY tutorial on how to vandalize their product to make it more suitable for fat bodies. I’ve spent most of this week going back and revisiting the page for these leg warmers, wanting them so badly but triple and quadruple guessing myself, convinced that, even if they did fit, they’d look stupid on my fat figure. and then the store’s Tumblr account quietly reblogs this tutorial with pics of a fat model wearing them, and…not only have they generated another sale for themselves, they’ve really bolstered my self confidence in a way I never would have expected. It’s such a small, simple thing, perhaps, in an often dreary world, but to be seen and counted as equally valuable by a clothing retailer as a straight-size consumer still feels a little radical to me, and a lot special. thanks, Sockdreams<3Aw, now you’re making us cry!Seriously, this response is just so sweet…we try to do right by our customers whenever we can, but we’re so grateful to have lucked into such wonderful supporters! Don’t ever let clothing bully you into feeling bad about yourself—if it doesn’t fit you, that’s on the clothing for being the wrong size, not on you for being the wrong anything. And don’t be afraid to take measures into your own hands if you can alter it to fit you. There is no “one size fits all,” and it’s amazing what a little hand-sewing can do!♥LucyI’ve been a customer for years and this is why. They listen and they get it. Socks or thigh highs rolling? OTK’s won’t stay over your knees? They hear you and they’ll put that info on the product page, and suggest something similar that will work for the length you want.Great company.Ooo might need to get myself some socks.(May be a queer man, but I can still be one in cute fucking socks!)Totally! Everyone deserves cute socks! We do also have a pride collection if you want to rock some pride colors, and if you have bigger feet we also have a collection for that. Basically, there’s no excuse not to wear socks you love!♥Lucy -- source link
