It’s one word, and WE’RE NOT EVEN SURE IT’S THIS ONE2. “Amara” is an italian word (“bitter”), and the translation of the greek one provided by Franco Ferrari is “fossa” (“grave” combining the two you get “bitter grave”, and while I know that’s definitely not how greek poetry should be read I find it weirdly beautiful -- source link
