Pisces, The Old God of Space-One of the 13 old gods from our dnd compaign, Pisces here being the patron to our cleric barbarian, Kor-rok. When we met this dude it was framed like a “making a deal for power with an obviously super evil demon” sort of thing. But then out of bonding over our party getting hunted down by one of Pisces’ previous batshit followers, and Pisces’ almost equally freaking out as us, Kor-rok and him kinda just became bros.Now Pisces’ just chills in Kor-rok’s now empty eyehole or somewhere else random on his body as a gross eye. Our party also just tends to call him “Squid” because that’s what Kor-rok called him for a long time before we learned his actual fucking name, because we never ask names.Pisces was originally primarily based on the Azshara Warbringers, back when his his initial appearance was essentually a very well reenactment of that. But later he evolved from that and became a part of a pantheon…Inspired by Lumpy Touch’s Gorefield Horrorscopes. No I’m not joking.-As for the art itself, I wanted to try a new medium, mostly using paint brushes and blends, oppose to my usual clean cartoon-like style. I don’t think I did a very good job, but I guess it is my first time trying. I want when they’re illustrated in our comic for them to be in a different medium entirely, to accentuate the kind of trippy and alien nature of them. Whether this is how I’ll do that or not, I’m not sure yet, but I’ll continue drawing these guys over time (It’s been a LONG time since of drawn monsters and bizarre gods so this has been very refreshing)-Anyway yea, I love Squid, can’t wait for him to appear in the comic I’ll never start. -- source link
