elaphaia:takakoschigusa:amanda elaphaia, em mantidprincess, and i are three strange things trying to sort out our trauma and we want to open up our exploration to the rest of the internet. we’re looking for submissions for our trauma zine “i keep the hole open.” we want images, words, art, text, poetry, essays, comics, fiction, playlists, anything that you want to contribute! we do ask that you only submit pieces about experiences that you identify as your own trauma, rather than the stories of your friends or family. since we hope to get a bunch of submissions and probably won’t know everyone who sends us things, we want to make sure that no one’s trauma is being discussed without their consent. we also require that your submissions not contain anything oppressive (racist, transphobic, ableist, misogynist, classist, etc.).how do you submit?? send us your piece at [email protected] along with a small bio/blurb we can put as an intro to your piece, a list of potential triggers for your submission, and a few recommendations for a trauma recovery playlist that will serve as a final, collaborative piece!i’m going to print a version for all contributors and, depending on how many people submit, might take requests for some extras. however, i’ll try to put everything together in a zip file that i can make public for all those who want to consume a digital version!please submit your pieces by friday, august 1st. you’ll hear back from us the following day once we’ve chosen the submissions that will go in the final zine (don’t worry, we would only cut something out if we found it potentially hurtful to our readership or if it was blatantly against our guidelines).i’m really excited to do this project, i’m sure em and amanda are as well!! if you’re not interested in participating, we would sure appreciate it if you could signal boost by reblogging and maybe letting your friends who might be able to contribute know about our Thing.(cover art cred to elaphaia)deadline is this friday!! -- source link
