malus-syl-vestris:braincoins:lionesshathor:trapqueenkoopa:gardeninglovers:zero light plantsTHIS IS SUCH A SPECIFIC AND SUPER NECESSARY POST.Spider plants are among the best natural air filters you can put in a flowerpot. They don’t just produce oxygen, they clean out other gases and toxins and whatever else is floating around the room. Also they’re easy as fuck to grow more of because they reproduce by putting little mini plants out on stalks. Clip one off, stick it in a pot and you’re good!Spider plants are safe to have around cats, too!On this list, bromeliads and spider plants are the only nontoxic plants. However, I’ve had a cat eat some of my pothos and he was fine. He also didn’t do it again because it gave him contact dermatitis in his mouth but my point is, unless your pet is like, really going to chow down, pothos isn’t going to hurt them in any sort of significant way. Philodendron is toxic for the same reason pothos is, but from what I’ve read it will cause a more severe reaction, so i don’t have any of those.Sansevierias and dracaenas will cause gastrointestinal distress if eaten, and nobody wants to clean that up, so i avoid them as well.Kentia palm isn’t actually toxic but it IS a bitch to take care of and I hate it. -- source link
