Surprising, since he is such a careful, controlled character all the time. But I guess that he knows that he fades enough into the background that no one will pay him any attention so there is no danger to showing how much Lan Xichen impresses him. His polite face is much more curated but there’s still an honesty beneath it that only shines on the surface when he is with Lan Xichen.It is fascinating to see, how taken with Lan Xichen he is right from the beginning. -- source link
