hearthglow:Statuette of ApolloCanosa, South Italy / Magna GraeciaAt the Getty MuseumThe figure rests on his right leg, while the left leg is bent and the left foot rests on a low, rocky projection. The head, turned towards his right, features soft, delicate features; the wavy hair, parted at center, falls onto the chest in two long ringlets and on the back is gathered into a loose ponytail. Crowning the head is a wreath with pointed leaves, several of which are missing. The ample himation is draped over the figure’s left shoulder, exposing the torso, plump belly, and right shoulder; rolled up on the hips, it falls in thick folds almost to the feet, which are shod with high sandals. He holds the kithara in the left hand, against his left shoulder, and rests the plektron in his right hand, against his belly. The kithara, ivy crown, hairstyle, and himation are typically associated with Apollo, but are also attributes of Dionysos. -- source link
