As he rested on the dribbling, drenching, shifting sand, with water tickling and trickling and adjusting things gently all around him, Algy alternated his gaze between the uncountable shells which appeared and disappeared in front of his eyes and the vast expanse of ocean and sky which he could only observe in small parts at a time, as the whole was far too large, but which filled him with a new energy every time he looked up. After the dismal gloom of isolation throughout the long, dark, northern winter, the glowing spring light made ideas cavort about in Algy’s head once again, and brought a wonderfully comforting feeling of hope, joy and creativity.Alone on the beach, Algy continued to think about his tumblr friends around the world who were still suffering from that oppressive gloom, owing to loneliness, stress and isolation resulting from circumstances entirely beyond their control. Rejoicing in the almost tangible light of the spring sunhine, he felt profoundly grateful for the less visible “ladder of light” which had been provided to him by the wonderful welcome and encouragement of his tumblr friends and followers, and which had enabled him to rediscover how inviting ideas were and thus to continue his adventures. Algy hopes very much that if some of his friends have also been trapped inside that icy crevasse described by Andrea Cohen, maybe even willing themselves to slip down further, they will perceive that “eyelet of light” too, and climb out with the assistance and encouragement of the many kind folk in the tumblrverse who are waiting and willing to help them rediscover the brightness all around He sends you all his very fluffiest hugs xoxoHow fortunate, havingfallen, to fall inwith a laddermade of light. How invitingideas are: climbinginto bigger, intobetter bright. Itried and tried, but couldn’t, ontwo rungs, holdfast. Panicked, Iwas, until recallingthe Alpinist slippedinside a crevasse,a man, who, frostbit, exhausted, unableto climb up, willedhimself to slipdown more. Onegoes, sometimes, that deep into an icyself and finds thereinan eyelet of light, anopening, and ghost-like, from someancient glacier stumbles.[Algy is quoting the poem Gratitude by the contemporary American poet Andrea Cohen.] -- source link
