t6ryan: 12 years ago today, Brent and I both left our respective jobs a little early and met a local attorney in the parking lot of a Leeann Chin. He had prepared a small stack of paperwork for us to review and sign: Articles of Organization, Operating Agreement, and a bunch of stuff we never took the time read thoroughly. As he flipped pages and explained things, we scribbled our names on every sheet like a giddy young couple buying their first house. When we were finished, he smiled, straightened the stack a couple times on the table, and slid all of it into a large manilla envelope. “Congratulations, you’re now business owners.” Could have been the smell of Peking Chicken, but man that was an amazing feeling. Which is odd, because we didn’t own a damn thing. But we did have an idea. And despite the lack of business plan, or corporate backing or even the slightest notion of what the next 12 years would bring, we knew it was going to be a wild ride worth taking. Failure was never an option. It was going to work. It had to work. #TwinSix #smallbusinessowner #entrepreneur #startsomething Photo cred: @nickgallopphoto (at Carver, Minnesota) -- source link
