Gluten Free Jaffle Apple Pies Mmmmmm! These are quick easy to make and they are absolutely, positively de-lic-ous! Ingredients - Gluten Free pastry. I used Simply Wise Pastry Sheets) or you can make your own pastry. Filling - 5 Apples (Golden Delicious, Fuji or apples of your choice) - ¼ cup castor sugar - 2 tablespoons light Mascovado sugar (optional) - 130 grams unsalted butter - 1 tablespoon cornflour - Saltanas (optional) - Lemon juice Method 1. Peel and cut apples into small cubes. Squeeze lemon on the apple so it doesn’t brown. 2. Heat up a pan and add butter and sugar. 3. Add the apple and saltanas and stir to coat with butter and sugar. Cook until the apple is soft, not mushy. 4. Add the cornflour and stir it through. 5. Allow the apple to cool. 6. Defrost the pastry and cut the pastry into squares. I had roll the pastry out a little for it to fit in the jaffle maker. 7. Turn on the jaffle maker and you will see the red light indicating its hot enough. 8. Put the pieces of square pastry on the bottom of the jaffle maker and scoop the apple mixture. Don’t over fill it! Top with a square piece of pastry. 9. close the jaffle maker. They take about 4-5 minutes to cook. Open it up and check them as they cook. 10. Serve with icing sugar and vanilla and ice cream and enjoy! -- source link
